In Guards We Trust

Well, well, well. This is a surprise most wonderful. Little-heard band Guards have early 2013 cornered, producing one of the most instantly-accessible albums since M83’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. In Guards We Trust is laden with woozy, dreamy fuzz-pop with rousing choruses; songs like Silver Lining and Ready to Go (below) are summery anthems at their finest.

In Guards We Trust… So much, in fact, that we’d happily sit on their knee even if they wore a shellsuit, rocked a gold chain, and called their first single ‘Now Then, Now Then’.
