One of our favourite debuts – and songs in general – this year was from Gotts Street Park, the Leeds collective who smashed it with Love In Bad Company. They continue that refreshing (if hella dark) sound on Control; with the vocals of Grand Pax they create what sort of sounds like a Bond theme for millennial emotion, imparting a huge amount of feeling with something that feels deceptively sparse. It’s a testament to their talent, and the rest of their debut EP Volume One (out now) is full of similar nocturnal instrumental-soul gems. Being from Bradford we might be biased but West Yorkshire got it going on, lads.
