ICYMI is our new feature, containing round-up of songs from the last few days that you might have missed, all in one handy place. Because we’re all busy and there’s a lot of new music out so HERE IS THE BEST OF IT.
Floes – Last Night (feat. Ghostly Kisses)
It’s been ages since we’ve heard from the lovely and ethereal tones of Ghostly Kisses, so it’s nice to her back on this Floes track. Last Night is a solemn hymn that deserves to be heard, a low-key ripple that asks ‘where is the love?’, almost innocently unaware that it’s in every breath right here.
BRÍET – In Too Deep
Hello, new person. This is BRÍET, Iceland’s latest export and the charismatic voice behind In Too Deep. It’s an infuriatingly good debut, flecked with guitar over it’s R&B-pop styling that sounds fresh, light, yet juicy all at the same time. Bright future for BRÍET, we reckon.
HYLLS – All Over The Place
The HYLLS are alive… with Nadia Ali’s new project. There’s something quite nice about the package of that xx-like bed, Ali’s vocals, and a very tight pop production that won’t ruffle any feathers but is rather lovely all the same.
Courtney Marie Andrews – Kindness of Strangers
And what better way to round this off with a bit of country/Americana? Courtney Marie Andrews is pretty good at said genre, with Kindness of Strangers being one of those longing, homely bops you can’t help but love.
