New Music Friday: Laura White, Years & Years, Tash Sultana, & more

Well, bloody hell. If you told us someone was going to take 112‘s seminal Only You and bring it to a new-gen we’d have murdered you on the spot, but Laura White   – yes, the one from the X Factor – has smashed it by honouring the original (with the help of Ms Banks, even if she can’t match up to Biggie). Elsewhere, Years & Years finally give us something decent with the title track to their album, Saint Mesa has some seriously dark indie while The Mary Onettes are an effervescent treat, Taylor Janzen makes a really rather beautiful debut, and our boy Blasko delivers some solid R&B once again.

From newer acts, Austel has a haunting new track, Tash Sultana and Skela properly boss it by being ridiculously impressive, Liz Lawrence returns on form, and Demi Hunziker is a massive amount of fun.

There’s also some great new stuff from Wet, Jaz Karis, Ashe, our girl Charlotte Lawrence (again) and JHart; check out all these tracks and more on our playlist below.
