And this should be a summer smash, if sense prevails. London lot All About She (no confirmation on who ‘she’ is) have teamed up with vocalist Gita (not the eponymous She) to create a dance-pop jam and a half. Much in the vein of peers Gorgon City, Disclosure, and Clean Bandit, the production on Like That finds its weight with a sensational vocal turn – including a rap – and everyone is much happier for it.
If only all birthday presents were like this. Electronic-pop purveyor and all-round bundle of handsomeness Gent Mason has treated us to a present on his birthday, so we’re returning the favour by bigging the fook out of it. Better is a gently floating account of the lovelorn – not really what you want to be feeling on your birthday, but it shimmers away nonetheless. Many happy returns and all that.
Laaaaaahda-mercy. Or Murci, if you’re taking the name of the young Leeds-based student Robin Ligertwood. Occasionally we remember our duty to promote the underdogs and track down the unsigned, and Murci’s Visions is one such example. This doesn’t sound like the work of a student; in fact, this seasoned blend of chillwave electronica and deep soul is what probably landed this kid in MNEK’s good graces, as there’ll be an Every Little Word remix coming from him very soon. Which means you’d do well to get on board.
