Y’all better know we ahead of the game. We clocked Montreal’s Forever some time ago, falling in love with her dreamy pop sound. That’s back in full force today with her sterling new song Falling (below), dipping some low-slung house beats with that add a more playful vibe even when she’s at her most scornful. Check out our Q&A with young Forever below.

First musical memory?
I dunno exactly, but classical piano music during ballet class as a kid stands out in my mind.

First album you ever bought?
DanceMix ’95

Describe your vibe in three words (but then tell us a bit more about the new song Falling).
Sexy, chill, independent. ‘Falling’ is a song and a video about surrendering. The next record is all about surrendering – a terrifying act of release that gives you magic.

Your inspirations, musical and otherwise?
Inspiration is all around us. Make an altar to alter your consciousness. Eat nutrient-dense foods to raise your vibrations.

What are your current jams?
My current jams: Ouri – “Left Me”, Amber Mark – “Lose My Cool”, Marie Davidson – “Adieu Au Dancefloor”.

Any guilty pleasures, musical or non?
I don’t feel guilty about my pleasures.

Favourite Beyonce song?
Love On Top.
